Display Design
In 2015, RTD spearheaded a collaborative effort involving 11 entities to commemorate and preserve the historic significance of Denver's Union Station. Central to this initiative was the creation of a captivating walking tour, brought to life through seven interactive, larger-than-life displays strategically placed at the exact former sites of historical elements within the station.
These immersive installations seamlessly blend mixed media elements such as concrete, plexiglass, vinyl, tile, and steel with historic images and narratives, providing visitors with a tactile and visually engaging experience. Each display serves as a poignant reminder of Union Station's rich heritage and its enduring impact on Denver's history.
To complement the walking tour, an informational brochure was meticulously crafted, serving as a comprehensive guide for visitors. This self-guided resource not only highlights the significance of each installation but also provides insights into the partners involved in the restoration project. Furthermore, it offers valuable information on the current state and ongoing renovation efforts at Union Station, ensuring visitors gain a deeper appreciation for this iconic landmark and its continued evolution.
